The Hansen Lab studies the clinical and biological problems that shape reconstructive plastic surgery: complex wounds, hidradenitis suppurativa, hand and microvascular surgery, soft tissue infection, and outcomes after high-complexity reconstruction.

Our work integrates retrospective clinical studies, systematic reviews, translational collaborations, and computational methods. We are built around a simple premise: the most meaningful research questions are the ones that emerge directly from patient care.
